*■ —~— , AFTER THE SESSION, MOVEMENTS OP MINISTERS. ' The ending of tlw session hag been followed by a rapid dispersal of members of Parliament, and very few save Minis-, ters and private members' whose homes are here now remain in Wellington.. The Hon. W.' P. Massey (Prime Minister) will be in Wellington for the next day or two at anyrate. "I have a certain amount of work to get through," he told a reporter last evening, "but hope to leave for Auckland on Sunday, or Monday next." The exact duration of-Mr, Mas-, 6ey's 6tay in the north is uncertain. He is to be entertained at a citizens' reception in Auckland on November 19, and on the, following day will attend the opening of .the new General Post. Office at Auckland. Apart from his official engagements, ' the Prime Minister .intends to spend a few-days in his own district. The Hon, James Allen leaves for tho south by the ferry 6teamer this cening, on a short visit to his 'home. In his own electorate he will probably open a new technical school building at Milton, and he wiill also pay a visit to' the Otckaike home for mental defectives. On his return journey he will open the Coronation Hall ■ at Palmerston . South. Before his departure for England on December 14, Mr. Allen will make arolher visit to his electorate, when he is to he banqueted by his constituents at Lawrence on December 6. The Prime Minister and the Hon. R. H. Rhodes will be present at the function. The Hon. A. L. Hcrdman will'probably be in town for the next week or two. When he can got away ho will make a tour of inspection of the-prisons of the Dominion, commencing with • Aucklaud. The Minister anticipates that the >holo of the tour will occupy about l ten days. The Hon. R. H. Rhodes left last evening for Christch'urch, where he will spend some day 3 transacting Departmental business and receiving deputations. The Postmaster-General will return to Wellington early next week, and 'will pi obably then remain -here, until ho goes north to attend a reception to .Mr. J'assey at Auckland on November 19, and to open the new General Post Office in that oitv on the following day. ' The-Hon. P. M. B. Fisher expects to: remain in Wellington until he goes to Auckland to attend the reception to be tendered* the Prime Minister. . The Hon. W. Fraser (Minister for Public Works) will remain in town until the end of the week, when he will.go south to attend the Dunstan Ru3h jubilee celebration the following week. The Hon. W. H. Herries (Minister for Railways) will probably be in Wellington for the next fortnight. THE GOVERNMENT WHIPS. Before dispersing to their homes, Government members made a presentation to their Party Whips, Messrs. D. H. Guthrie and W. Nosworthy. High praise was given to both Whips for the diligence and efficiency with which they had carried out their exacting and onerous duties, and it was stated that the fine record of the session, during the whole courseof which the Government had not_ incurred defeat in a single division, was in large measure due to the capable work of the Whips. THE LABOUR PARTY. The. Labour members in Parliament, one of their number told a reporter yesterday,: have not' attended any meeting or caucus of the Opposition party since the present Government took office. The Labour member mentioned added that the party-would, maintain this attitude. % of aloofness, and would strictly ■ preserve its autonomy. . '■'
