SENIOR CADET' FOOTBALL.

Last evening at the Shetland Bakery, Cuba Street, the Wellington Senior Cadet Football cup was presentedto the winners of the tournament, No. 17 Senior Cadet Company (Boys' Institute), the rttnnersup, being the Technical College: Both teams were entertained at a, social evening jby the officers in charge of the' Senior I Cadets in Wellington','-there being a large number of officers present. Captain Greenish presided an.d ■ was, supported by Major Potter (area 'officer),", and Major Corrigan (sth Regiment). Major CotriSan presented the cup to' the captain of the team (Cadet O'Flaher'ty), The above Cup was presented by the: officers of the late First Battalion Wellington Rifles (now the sth Regiment) for competition • amongst the oompanies of the battalion, and Was won outright by the Zeailandia Rifles. On the. merging of the volunteers into the present Territorial force .and the abolition. of individual companies, the officers and men of. the Zealandia Rifles elected to present this cup for competition amongst Senior Cadet companies in Wellington for Rugby football. The .winners of the Cup hold it for 12 monthss'jThe same.company has donated their company rifle belt for competition amongst the Senior Cadets. This will, it is hoped, bo fired for- during tho meeting to. be. held in .January "by the Wellington' Rifle: Association. Both these trophies aTB veiy handsome , examples of the silversmith's art.
