A meeting of tho committee of the ,New Zealand Competitions Society- was •held. last evening in Mr, Dykes's. office to make final arrangements;- foir the open* ing of this year's festival, :.whieh place on, Wednesday evening, next, et the big Town 1 Hivll.:' Dr.. Arnold Izard occupied the chair.'.
