FEATHERSTON ITEMS.
Dr.' James Wallace, a pioneer settler of this district, who sustained some slight injuries as tho result of a fall recently, has now quite, recovered. . At the Kaiwaiwai Hall on Friday night on invitation dance- for children and their parents was held, as a.. wind-up to the series of juvenile dancing classes conducted V Misses Healy and Candy. (2), The hall, had been decorated for the occasion, and most of the children were .in t fancy dress. The gathering passed olf very successfully. Mr. E. A, King, head teacher of the Kaiwaiwai School) has resigned in order to take up a similar appointment in the South Island. The newly-formed Wairarapa Automobile Association held its first .general meeting last week, when tho rules which had beoh drawn up by a 6ub-coni.mitteo wero adopted. The following officers were elected-.—President, Mr. W. C. Buchanan, JI.P,; vica-presidents, Messrs, J. 0. Bidwill, 31, Elgar, T. E. Maunsel], and W. H. Boofclir hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Ci. Miller;'hon. auditor, Mr. Geo. Fenwick; secretarv, Mr. T, V. .Wilson, . It was resolved that the executive committee, of li should be equally representative of Carterton and T?«atherston centres. Tho Featherston representatives win be Messrs. G. T. .Stewart, J., Carno . Bidwil.l, A. Hannay, A. R. Poulter, A. J. Toogood, D. Goddnrd, and M. Ford. ' Tho remainder will be elected at a meeting to be held in Carterton shortly.
