Provision is made for every class of cook- ; ery, and there are the other substantial .olasses—home-made sauces, jams, jellies, and bottled fruits.'. There are also classes of every description of plain and f'ancy sewing, from tno familiar crochet to the exquisite point lace. The prize money is well and evenly allocated, and competitors havo ample encouragement in this ' re : spect'. ' Guinea prizes are given in bread, scones, family cake, Aladeira cake, biscuits, rich fruit cake, jellies, fruits, and sauces; and in fancy .work—child's frock, ; cotton dress, muslin frock, table centre, embroidery, and carvings and oil paintings,. Valuable trophies are offered as points prizes. In the cooking classes there is a challenge trophy, to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals.
