ROYAL ASSENT TO 1910 ACT WITHHELD. The Hon. I l '.* it. B. Fisher, Minister for Marine, informed the House of Representatives last night that thfe Imperial Government had not assented- to the 15)10 Shipping and Seamen }3ill. A question was asked by Mr.'G. W. Russell on the J subject a few weeks ago, and Mr. Fisher, | •in. order to ascertain-the position, sent tho following telegram to tho High Cam.rn.issioner in Ix!.ndon:*'What;.is the.position, regarding fang assenting to Shipping and Seamen Act? To this telegram lie'.received the following cablegram from the. High Commissioner: "With reference to j-oiir telegram of October 11, Shipping anil Seamen Act, the Secretary of State's dispatch, January 13, to the Goveriior was thai the course of discussion 1 at the Imperial Conference was not 6(icli as to tomove the objection felt; by tho Imperial Government to your legislation proposed." \
