' ■■ Some time aco complaints ■ were mad® that the facilities of the hospital were lxv ing denied to the wives of- working men, and inquiries made at that, .time revealed the fact that the demands made upon the home and. upon its nursing staff were greater than the'.ra^biUties : "of'the institution. could meet. On that occasion a particular gripvanbe," which.' concerned the domestic affairs of a member of tlio Waterside Union, was smoothed over satisfactorily, but within- the past few days another ; uhioiist.,has madestatemenfere-. gjjrding the administration of : tho homo, to the executive of 'the Waterside Workers' Union. Theso were of such a serious nature that the secretary (Mr. J. Collett) communicated .with,_ the Auckland Parliamentary representatives' and, the Minister. Mr. Collett. has since .received a reply froin tho Ho'i. R. H. Rhodes stating that he would, make .personal investigations eil the occasion of liis proposed visit to Auck« land in connection with the opening of » now post office on November 18.
