■ Messrs. Dalgetj' and Co. report as follows;—Wo held . our fortnightly auction salo ; yesterday afternoon, vi-hen' we offered a few bags of wool and a good catalogue of 6kins, hides, and tallow. Competition for Wool, and especially for hides, was keen, and prices for these' firm at last sale's rates, whilst for sheepskins the competition was dull, and prices showed a slight decline. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., and Reduced, roport:Yeste'r'day'e salo was very' well attended by buyers, and good catalogues we'ro submitted. Hides were keenly compoted for. Sheepskins of gppd quality sold well at about last sale's rates, but damaged skins were slightly easier. Only bag lota of wool wero offered. Tlio Wool salo fixed' for Tuesday, November 5, will probably bo cancelled on account of the small amount of wool available. The broken weather has retarded, shearing operations. Trices for sheepskins Were about on a par with last sale, for sound pelted lotß, while inferior and fallen skins, which have of late been bringing extreme prices eased to tho extent of one farthing per pound, due, no doubt, to tho urisatisfac*' tory account solos received by late mails by shippers. Hides Were in very .keen demand, at prices ruling from one farthing to three-eighths of a penny per pound higher than last sale.
