MAXJNGAKUI FROM SYDNEY. * The Union liner Ma-unganui arrived at Wellington from Sydney- direct at 6 a.m. yesterday. The New South Wales port was left at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday last, and fine weather was experienced all the way across. About SCO passengers aVrived by the vessel. KENT LEAVES LIVERPOOL. The local agents for the F. and S. Line have been advised that the Kent left Liverpool on Octobar 19 for Cape Town, Hobart, Auckland, and Wellington. She is due at this port about December 22.
ROTENFELS LEAVES NEW YORK. Messrs. Dalgety tind Company, local agents for the U.S. and A. Line, have received ndvicc which stated that their chartered pt-eamer Rotenfeis left New York for Wellington, via way ports, on October 22. She should arrive here about Dcrember 31.

She will probably call at Sydney on route, in order to land a deck cargo of timber. The coastal steamer Moa left New Plymouth for Grcymouth on Tuesday .evening to load the first shipment of Paparoa coal for Wanganui. The Oceanic Strain ship Company's steamer Ventura, which left- Sydney for San Francisco at, 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, advised by wireless at 8 p.m. on October 20 that she had steamed 450 miles at an average speed of 16 knots. The Shaw-Savtll steamer which is under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived at Melbourne on October 28. She is at Wellington about November 15. v The small steamer Wairau is due at Wellington from To Awuite, Peloru.s Sound to-morrow. She is bringing a cargo of whale oil aeroes for shipment to London. Mr. W. L. Dodd, third engineer 9f the Takapuna, left the vessel at Wellington yesterday. Mr. IT. G. White, chief officcr of the Kaitoa, came ashore at Wellington this trip. The Government steamer Hinemoais expected to leave Wellington on a. visit of inspection to northern lighthouses to-mor-row. ' t The Shaw'Savill steamer Tainui will probably leave Wellington for Lyttelton. on Saturday. The auxiliary teow Echo leaves Karamea (timber-laden) for Blenheim on Saturday. The Union steamer Kowhai is to > leave Greymouth to-morrow afternoon with a load of timber for Lyttelton and Dunedin. Mr. Schiorning. who ha-s been acting as purser of the Flora, is under instructions to rejoin the Mararoa as as3i6t<int purser. Mr. Sillett, late assistant purser of the Manuka, is to join the Atua in a similar capacity at Auckland. Up till a late hour last evening there was no sign of the Arahura, from Piefcon. The vessel was expected to arrive at Wellington early this morning.
