At the Free Labour Congress, tho presidential address etated that the evidence was accumulating that aggressive trade unionism was dying. The- mischief done and danger to modern unionism wcro duo to professional leaders allowing militancy to overshadow everything elso. The report showed that wages had nominally increased during the last fifteen, years, but that tlie purchasing power had decreased. Government taxation had created fresh industrial problems.
