Owing to tho extraordinary lateness of the season, the Wellington Bowling, Centre has decided to postpone, the first of tho ponnnnt matches until Saturday,, I November 16, by which date it is hoped Hint tho greens will bo ill a bettor condition for finer work than at present ie possible. On Saturday week nine rinks (36 players) of bowlers representing tho Now Zealand. Bowling; Association (tho South Island body) will arrive in Wellington, and will ploy hero against local players, that afternoon. These, it is understood, will not bo the official games against tho visitors, who nro to return to Wellington later on after a tour of tho North Island. THORNDON CLUB. An enjoyable tournament for the Rose Cup was held by members of the Thorndon Club yesterday, ten rinks takine; part Four games of 15 heads were played, with the result that three teams, skipped by ■■ Conlin, Chittcy, mid 'Mason, vron three games each.
