Mr. Griffith, Minister for Public Works, has taken prompt action with ft view to carrying out the recommendation of Mr. Hay, the English expert, for the construction of an underground railway and a harbour bridge. A sum has been placed on the Estimates so that preliminary, work may be started as soon as Pni-lia-ment approves of the scheme. Tho Lord Mayor regards the scheme as an excellent one.
