Wobb, who appeared for tho h.P.C.A., remarked that the Chinese usually were kind to animals. the defendant stated that he had recently given the horse a spell, and had worked it again because he thought it had recovered. : . | RETURNED TO QUEENSLAND. Anthony CkliTgo was brought up on a charge of his having stolen .£l3 from Helen Durkowski, in Queensland. The Court made an order thnt Cltlugo should be handed over to the Queensland police, OTHER CASES. Ronald Muir was charged with having driven a motor-car faster than the rate of six miles per hour. He was fined 10s., with 7s. costs. _ H. J. Wyctt and E. M'Donald were each fined fls. tor having permitted horses to be at large. Mary Hunter was sentenced to ono month's imprisonment for having Stolon i'l2 12s. Cd. worth of clothing from Michael David, Madame Noon, Lucy 11. Penlington, and William Sherman. For olfcuccs against the Defence Act, the following (some for having failed to attend parade, others for having obstructed parade) were required to pay email Anoni-Jawa Asher, Dents Brseu* Kilty,

Charles Coffey, Stanley John Fries, Albert Lloyd Hodge, C. Jones, Samuel Robertson Murray, Horace Durrell Eoborts, Frederick William Bussell Ashley, Thomas Slater, E. P. Smith, and Alfred Turner.

For insobriety, Mary Collins was convicted and discharged, Leonard St. Lawrence was fined 10a., and Owen. M'Aleary Thomas Reeves was sent to gaol for one month on a charge of his having used certain language.
