■ STONE QUARRIES. The House met at p.m. Mr. G. V. PEARCE (Patea.) gave notice to ask the. Minister for Public Works when the Department would be- able to provide stone quarries, in Taranaki, as local bodies there urgently required them. PUBLIC RESERVES BILL. Tho Hon. W. F. MASSET (Prime Minister) gave notice "of his intention to introduce the Public -Reserves and Domains Amendment Bill. WESTPORT HARBOUR. The Westport Harbour Amendment Bill (tho Hon. P. M. B. Fisher) was introduced and read a first time. OTHER BUSINESS. Mr. A. E. GLOVER (Auckland Central) made a personal explanation regarding .his voto in the.second reading debate on the Land Bill. He stated that lie had paired with Mr. Dickson, but had intended to voto for the Bill. Tho Hon. A. L. HEKDMAN moved to re-commit the Births aud Deaths Registration Bill. The House went into Committee on the Bill, uml it was reported with amendments. Tho Hon. W. F. MABSEY moved that the amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Hnuraki Plains Amendment Bill he approved. Mr. 11. POLAND (Ohinemmi) called for :i. division. The motion was agreed to bv 3(1 votes to 27; The Hoiho rose at O.jO a.m. liobt. Pearson and Co. are advertising their great slaughter sale of men's boots.
