KARORI COUNCIL.
The fortnightly meeHng of the Karori Borough Council was held in the local Council Chambers last evening. The following were present:—Councillors 'Burn (in the chair), Hildreth, Brodnock, Hamilton, Standin, Horn, Ninimo, and Anderson.
A. letter was received from Mr. W. H. D. Bell (M.P. for Wellington Suburbs), slating Unit hediad asked.Hie PostmasterGeneral if lie would place an amount on the. Estimates for the erection of a post office iit Karori on the land purchased with that view some years ago. The Post-niastor-Gciieral had replied that the matter would be considered when the Public "Works Estimates for the year are being finally revised.
It was decided to write, to the City Corporation and ask Unit the car leaving Courtenay Place .at 7.17 a.m. should leave at 7.12 a.m., and the. car that leaves Karori Park at 7.15 a.m. should bo timed to leave at 7.10 a.m. in future.
A letter from the City Corporation staled that the Tramways Committee hud decided not to issue workers' tickets on city lines to passengers' riding from Karori on the 7.15'.n.m. car.'
In reply to a request from the council, Mr. Cable, on behalf of the City Corporation, wrote giving, details of the number of passengers carried on cars running to Northland only for the space of one week. Altogether 989 passengers were carried between-September 16 and Sept. 21,' inclusive.
