ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
THE NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A meeting of the council of' the New JScaland Football Association was held at the Y.M.C.A. Buildings yesterday niternoon. Those present were: Mr. 11. M'Keowen (chairman), representing Hnwko's Bay, and Messrs J. F. Atkins (Wellington), C. Fordham (Otago), L. White (Canterbury), and B. L. Salmon, (secretary). Letters were received from the Otago Football Association and from the Kaitangata Club regarding a decision, made bv the former awarding tho match, in which Kaitangata beat Mornington ,by i points to 2, to Mornington, on...the : scon?, that Kaitangata played two men not proporly transferred to their -club. The Otago Association stated that the Kaitangata Club pltiyetl these men against the orders of tho executive; and; that they, as an executive, desire the N.Z. Council to uphold their decision. Tho matter was discussed briefly. It appeared that the Otago Association lias no specific rulo governing transfers; but it was assumed tliat they work on' tlie general rule regarding transfers passed at the last annual meeting of the New Zealand Council. The council was of opinion that the matter should be fully dealt with, and a motion by Mr. White, to ihc effect that the.matter lie held over and discussed at a specially-convened meeting of the council, was carried without dissent. • The other business was formal.
