It is officially stated that since tho extension of tho tiro at the 700 feet lovel in the North Mount Lyell Mino the 850 feet . and 1000 feet leVels have become so filled with gas that it is impossible to' >vork there without the greatest risk. The raising of the bodies of tho entombed miners has, therefore, been delayed until funs have been placed in tho engine winze end main e'hnft to clear the workings of foul air and gas. Those are now being put iu place. ■ Firemen and assistant miners ore- tinaninious in the belief that the levels are unfit to be entered now, oven with helmets. ' . .-'...
