SUDDEN DEATH.
PRisONBB DIES IN HIS CELL,
Frederick Williams, a prisoner at ths Terrace Gaol, died in his cell at. about 9 o'clock yesterday morning. Williams was well, apparently, _at 8 o'clock when one of the staff took hipi hw breakfast, but at 0 (the hour on Sundays at which prisoners are summoned to exercise or to church) Williams was found lying on the floor, seemingly in w fit. He was propped up ou pillows, but) in a few minutes ho had expired. A post mortem will bo held this inoriw ing. An inquest also, will be held, probably io-day. . Williivms commenced his term of mm prisonment on February 21, 1911, wlicn.ha was sentenced to fivo years' incarceration; on a charge of breaking and entering! at Napier. Reckoning on tho customary deductions of time, Williams still had about two- years and ono month of term to servo. It is thought that Williams must have been taken ill just a few minutes boforo the warder entered to bring hiiiv, ou(-, as he had enten all his breakfast and had mado his bed and tidied his cell.
