A correspondent writes i—Whilst travel* ling ilrom Napier to Dannovirko on Fri-' day night last on a 6low train a sensational incident occurred, which calls for tho close attention of the railway authorities. Whilst negotiating; a sharp curve between Matnmau end Piri Pin, nt a rate of 25 miles por hour, the occupants of the first-class smoking compartment were bewildered with the knowledge Hint tin carriage had attained w> great an angle that many of them made a hasty rush for tho platform with the intention of leaving the train. It was with difoculty that one found one's oquilbrium, and an idea can be gained as to bow great the angle was from tho fact that the packages stowed away on the racks were thrown to the floor, much to the discomfort of those who hnppenea lo be beneatn. This is not an isolated occasion that lear has been thrust upon, the luckless traveller at this point, and it is honed that flip authorities will lake this matter up with a view of instructing tho drivers on this run to exercise more care for the weltaro of their charges.
