BOYS INSTITUTE.

Sir. H. G. Ell, M.P., was the speaker at tho service for boys held last evening nt the Hoys' Institute, in Arthur Street. His subject was "The Use of Hobbies." He said that many great a.nd notable men had ha/d during tho whole of their lives interesting hobbies, and they hnd used them not only for relaxation, for tho purpose of giving delight to their friends. He referred to different hobbies such as the Icee.ping of tame animals, tho gTowiii" of (lowers, and stamp collecting, and showed how all of them coukl be mado instruments for the refining 'of* individual'character Tjy making people more thoughtful and kind. Mr. Kll advised each boy to havo a good hobby, nnd lie would find that ho, was thus able to add much to the joy of those around him. Leisure time was much better spent in the pursuit of an interesting nnd instructive- hobby than in drifting about the streets. Tho address wns illustrated, and tho hearty tliankg of the meeting wore accorded to the speaker. At.the service next Sunday evening the Prirao Minister (the Hon. \f. V. Mnssey) will -peak, aud the committee of the institute invite all boys between the ages of 10 and 18 to be present.
