THE MUNICIPAL ORCHESTRA.
Sir,—Some time ago Mr. Barnett complained bitterly of the lack of support given to the Municipal Orchestra, and a few days later I read with interest a letter in your valuable paper dealing with the same subject matter, in which the writer, suggested an alteration in the system of allocating dates, so that tho municipal venture would not be superseded by other concert-giving organisations. It is quito clear now that the council are not out to foster their orchestra, for I notice that the Professional Orchestra have been allocated next Sunday for a concert, whilst Tuesday following is given to the Municipal Orchestra. Is it any wonder Mr. Barnott is disgusted, and is departing where appreciation awaits him? Such capable (f) mismanagement is enough to chase a less artistic musician further. Good old "Suprema a situ."—l am, etc., VBLOX. October 15. ,
