COURT OF APPEAL.

POWERS OF PUBLIC TRUSTEE. Argument was concluded in tho Court of Appeal yesterday in the test case submitted for the purpose of defining the powers of the Public Trustee in regard to claiming (under the Administration Act, 1908) the administration of intestate estates.

The Judges for the hearing wero the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), Mr. Justice Williams, Mr. Justice Denniston, Mr. Justice Edwards, Mr. Justice Cooper, and Mr. Justice Chapman. The estato concerned in the case before the Court is that of William James Adolphus Dickons, en-gine-driver, late of Petono. Sir John Pindlay, K.C., with him Mr. J. W. Maedonald, appeared for the Public Trustee, while Mr. M. Myers, with liim Mr. F. E. Petherick, appeared for Mrs. Dickenfi, 'the widon\ ' The Law Society was represented in the matter by Mr. A. Gray.

At tlio conclusion of argument yesterday tho Court reserved decision.
