NEWTOWN AND HUTT GAMES. On Wednesday afternoon four rinks from tho Newtown Club played a friendly match with tho Hutt Club on tho latter's ground. The green was in good order and some good ploy ensued. The scores aro as under: — Newtown—Caterer, Brown, Pankhurst, Claxton (s.), 12; Hutt—Simpson, Hawthorn, Hodgins, Hill (s.), 23. Newtown—Tonks, Talbot, Speirs, Noble (s.), 22; Hutt—Birch, Rishworth, Ginger, Hollard (s.), 18. Newtown—Crosbie, Barlow, Reid, Armstrong (s.), 13; Hutt—Young, Hayes, Casey, HendTy (s.), 21. Newiown—Parker, Townes, Porter, Phillips (s.), 14; Hutt—Judd, Sinclair, Cud by, M'Kcnzic (s.), 25. Next Saturday the club will play a series of progressive pairs.
There are many points and theories concerning the gnme of bowls: different players, diiforent opinions. But on one point all English bowlers are in complete agreement: Ayres' bowls aro best.
