SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications are for increasing haze and cloudiness, with rain falling generally. Freshening northerly winds probable generally, with a falling barometer everywhere for a westerly low pressure area, due to pass in the south about Monday. Southerly winds have decreased and nortlierlieg have already sprung up in many parts of tho country. The barometer has fallen everywhere. Rain has fallen in many parts of the Dominion, temperatures are milder, and fair to cloudy weather now predominates. D. 0. BATES. Meteorological Office. Wellington, October 18, 1912.

(From Our BpeciaJ Correspondents.) Wanganut, October laAFine day. j Tending, October 18.—Very stormy night; dull, warm day; threatening night. Otaki, October 18.—Heavy rain last night; bright sunshine to-day. Featherston, October 18.—Showery during the morning; fine, but dull afternoon. Heavy rain fell throughout the previous night. Carterton, October 18—The weather is fine, but tho sky is overcaßt. There was a good fall of rain last night. Greytown, October. 18.—It rained heavily this morning, but has cleared off this afternoon, although it is still very cloudy, j Jlasterton, October 18.—Cold and shoivery.
