In Auckland, Wellington, Christehurch, and Dunedin, a plumbers' advisory committee is to be set. up, the members being appointed by the Governor as follows:A person holding the position''of engineer to a borough council or a drainage board, a district health officer,-a director of a technical school, a' master plumber, and a journeyman plumber. Plumbers already licensed are to be registered if !ney apply within tbrca months from the commencement of the Act, and afterwards admission to the register will be obtained by passing a practical and theoretical examination in plumbing. It is proposed tii(it 110 registered master or journeyman shall be required to pass any examination or pay any license fee under any local authority's or draingae board's by-law. Fees are to l>e prescribed by regulations, but are not to oxcccd five shillings for registration or one pound for examination. The principal function of the advisory committees is to investigate faulty, negligent, or unlawful workmanship i>y any registered plumber reported by any locai authority, dl'ainaje' board or distrifct health officer, or otherwb.o brought under its notice.
