MOTOR-CYCLING.
A RELIABILITY TRIAL.
\ reliability- motor-cycle trial, for light and heavy-weight machines, is to be held on Labour Day (October 28). Competitors will be required to ride to ft schedule tinie, which has been worked out as follows Light-weights, under 3 h.p, 8 miles per hour; heavy-weights, 3 to 41 hp., 20 miles per hour; heavy-weights, 5 h.p. and over, 22 miles per hour. The course will bo from Wellington to Pnlmerston North, via Shannon and Linton, and back via TToxton. Competitors will bo allowed a margin nf three minutes Into at every control, and after this margin has been, taken into consideration, one mark per minute will be, lost for, ovcrv minute Into. Portions of a minute will count as a'full minute. Competitors nifty arrivo early at any control, but any competitor doing so •will not be allowed (n depart before, the time sUted on hi* c.y ; .
