SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications are for northerly winds, strong to sale, generally, and veering to south-easterly southwards of Cape ' Egmont and Castlepoint, after about sixteen hours. The weather is likely to prove unsettled and boisterous, with rain in most parts, hail, ?/no\v, and sleet on high country in the south and Tivera flooded in the southern districts. There are indications for electrical disturbances in parts. The barometer is unsteady, but a rise will probably take place in the south, after about sixteen hours. Squally and changeable conditions have prevailed, and rain had fallen in Westland and Otago. Northerly and westerly winds have predominated, and strong to gale southwards of CcdU Strait.
