Before dealing with tlie scheduled business, a motion was carried to the cffect that tho council should write to the Government asking for a new post office for I'etono anil also write. to the Railway Department, suggesting that it" would be more convenient if the train now leaving Petone at 7.-30 p.m. were to leave at 7.10 p.m., as formerly. It was also resolved that the Railway Department bo asked for a reply to a letter from the council writfen sAmc time ago, inquiring why the Wairarapa train docs not stop at Petone. .
The secretary of tho Petone Junior Club wrote asking permission to make use of one of the dressing Sheds on tho Recreation Ground for training purposes, and to be allowed to use the ground for evening runs, the first (o tnko place on November (i.
