BANKRUPTCY MATTERS
Several bankruptcy matters were dealt with in the Supreme Court yesterday morning by the Chief Justice (Sir Kobert Stout).
Henry Shotlander, hotelkeepcr, of Wellington, applied for discharge. Mr. M. J. Crombih appeared for the bankrupt, and explained the transactions (in connection with a I'eiMing' hotel) which had led to the filing of the petition. The Official Assignee (Mr. A. Simpson) offered no objection to the granting of the discharge. He explained that two meetings of credifors had been called, but had lapsed for want of a quorum. The principal creditor had not taken the troublo to file a proof of debt. His Honour granted the discharge. John Hardie Murdoch, pastrycook, nl«o applied for discharge, Mr. I'. \Y. Jackson appearing as counsel. \o opposition was offered to the application, and his Honour accordingly panted the discharge Tho discharge of Oswald Coates, accountant, of Napier, had been recommended by the Official Assignee at Napier, and as 110 one appeared to offer any objection, r S i made the necessary order. The next sittings of the Court were i lixed for December 16 next, at .10 a.m.
