Mossrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having had a. very fair entry of both sheep _ and cattle at their I'eilding sale on Friday. The stock sold as below:—Small mixed lloggets, lZe. 4d., 12s. 7d„ 12s. Bd.; two and four-tooth shorn wethers, 13s. 6d.; aged ewes, with good, percentage of lambs, to 16s. 6d. Cattle: Yearling steers,' £3 25.; two-year steers, £4 10s. 6d.; forward cows, to £4; light fat cows,' to £6 55.; three and a half-year bullocks, to £7.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, LJ.d., report:—At Levin, on Friday, a good yarding of sheep came including several pons of prime sheep, for which there was keen competition. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency .Co., Ltd., end Reduced report:—We held our fortnightly Levin sale at our yards on Friday last, when we offered a large yarding of cattle to a full representation of buyers, Wellington butchers were also in attendance, and secured several lots of cow and heifer beef. The sale opened well, and practically the whole of our yarding changed hauds at prices highly satisfactory t-o vendors:—We sold fat cows (light weights), to £7 55.; medium quality heifers, to £7; forward bullocks, to £5 195.; yearling heifers (HofetebiJersey cross), to £5; 18-month heifers, to £4; yearling heifers, from £3 fe. 6d. to £3 12s. 6d.; small - sorts, £2 19s. .to £3; springing heifers, from £4 10s. to £5 155.; yearling steers (small), from 355. to £2 10s.; dairy cows (cloee to profit), £5 lie. 6d.; £6 to £9 23.; empty storo cows, £3 14s. to £4 55.; bulls, from £5 76. 6d. .to £4 ss.
. Mr. Newton King reports:—ln my ICaponga yards on Friday, October 4, I had a very good entry and attendance. Good store cows sold very readily.' Dairy heifers were yarded in splendid quality, meetting with excellent competition. At my Rahotu sale, on Tuesday, October 8, I had a fair entry, for which tho demand was very good, every line without exception, being cleared during the day as follows:—Best eitore cows, from £3 17s. to £4 135.; others, £3 to £3 143.; Might fat cows, £5 Us. to £6 Is.: yearling steers, good, £3 35.; others, £2 ss. to £2 10a.; yearling grade Heifers, £2 Bs. 6d. to £2 18s.; empty two-year heifers, £4 os. Gd. to £4 2s. 6d.; small, £3 10s. to £3 145.; bad-colouTcd two-year steers, £3 '6s. Bulls, two-year Holsteins, £13 155.; grades, £4 lte. to £5 Ba.; yearling Jersey, well marked, £3 10s.; springing heifers, best, £6 12s. 6d. to £8 55.; others, small, £4 ss. to £5 103. In my Stratford dairy pens, on the same day, there was a heavy entry of both cows and heifers. Bidding was very spirited throughout. an excellent ?.ale resulting at the following prices:—Choice springing heifere, £9 10s. to £11 55.; good, £6 15s. to £8 155.; small or late, £4 ss. to £5 55.; guaranteed cow#, best, £8 to £11 10s.; others, £5 15s. to £6 15s.
