la the House of Commons a long debate took place on . the Mfirconi agreement. Critics contended that it contained no guarantee of efficiency, # Sir Rufus Isaacs emphatically denied an outside insinuation concerning the Government, himself, and his brother m connection with the contract or shares. Mr. Herbert Samuel categorically denied the rumours that certain members .of the Government had taken advantage of thoir knowledge that negotiations were proceeding to make heavy profits in Mar'ooni shares. The House agreed to Mr. Samuels motion to appoint a Select Committee to inquire into the agreement. The "Daily Telegraph," the "Daily 'Mail," and the "Morning Post" express entire confidence in the Governments integrity and declare that Sir Rufus Isaacs and' Mr. Samuel met' the charges fully and'explicitly.
