May Agnes Lyon applied for sureties of the peace against Edith Hastings. His Worship dismissed the application, and remarked that if certain peoplo had minded their own business and not carried tales, the caso would rot have gone to Court.
Albert Edward Gray was fined on a charge of his having stolen an overcoat from Abraham Barsht. On a second charge of having stolen an overcoat from Barsht, Gray was convicted and ordered to appear for sentence when called on. Gray pleaded not guilty to both counts. James William Evans was ordered to pay costs, 75., for having left a cart unattended in a public thoroughfare. Thomas Porter was ordered to pay costs, 95., as tho person responsible for a chimney which- had been on fire. Norling nnd Qninn were charged with having commenced to erect a house without the permission of the Onslow Borough surveyor. They were fined Os., with costs, £1 10s.
Nina Drake was charged by the police with having Jtept a dangerous dog, which was not under proper control. His Worship said that the evidence given was conflicting. He dismissed the information. On a charge of his having ill-treated a horse, John Hamilton was fined £.2. Ernest James Marshall was fined £i for having assaulted Albert Edward Allen. For their having failed to attend military parade, tho following were convicted and ordered to pay 7s. Court cost?. William Arnold, Frank Broughtoti, Michael Fitzgerald, Frederick Nation, Charles Quin, W. T. Rico, Leslie Shackleford, Frederick Stewart. On similar charges, Frank Kelly was fined 55., with costs 75., and Robert Harold Hunt and Alfred Shearer were convicted and discharged. For insobriety. Frank Roberts was fined £2, John Hindle 10s., John Whelan -El Is. Gd. (costs), and Henry Richard Balding was sent to Roto Roa for one year. . '
