Messrs. Dalgety and 00., Ltd., report as follows on their usual fortnightly sale, held at Levin this week:—We had a medium yarding of ■ sheep and a large entry of cattle. There waa a Rood attendance of buyers, and competition waa keen throughout the sale , for all classes of stock. Wo quote the following prices :—Sheep: Ewes and lambs, to 19s. 6d.; hoggerte, to 14s. Cattle: Springing heifers, to £5 2s. 6d.; cows, with calves, to £3 175.; eighteen-month heifers, £4 15s. to £5; yearling heifers, to £3 35.; store bullocks, to £6; two-year steers, £4 Bs. to £4 lls.; yearling . Shorthorn steers, to £4 Is.; 6tore cows, £3 lls., £3 155.; to £3 15s. 6d.; fat cows, to £8 7s. 1 fat bullocks, to £8 95.; bulls, to £4.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Pnlmerston North, report having had a fair Warding of stock at Palmerston North on Thursday, which eold as below:—Light fat ewes, to 17s. 3d.; store cows, £3 lls., £3 11.1. 6d.. £3 lfe. 6d., to £3 18s. 6d.; backward dairy heifers, £4 10a.; light fat cows, £5 Bs. to £6; bulls, to £4 109.
.Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At Palmerston North on Thursday we had a medium entry of both sheep and cattle, which sold at late rates. We quote: Fat ewes and wethers, 205.: fat ewes, 16s. 3d. to 17a; ewes, in lamb, 143.; small hoggets, Bs. 2d.; clghteen-months steers, £3 17s. 6d.; yearling steers, £2 to. £2 lls.; cighteen-mpnths hoifore, £3 12s. 6d. to £3 155.; yearling heifers, £2 7s. 6d. to £3; springing heifers, £4 195.; springing cows, £5, £5 10s., £6, £6 lte., to £6 165.; empty two-year I'.cifers, £4 14s. 6d.; bulls, £2 10s. to £4 14s. 6d.; weaners, 16a'. to 205.; cull cows, 20s.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced, report:—At Palmerston on Thursday we had a good ontry of sheep and oattle, and effected practically a total clearance at late rates. Sheep: Inferior hoggota, 12s. 7d.; ewe hoggeta (medium), 145.; wether hogsets, 14.; cull ewes, ss. 6d.; store ewes, 12s. 7d.; mixed ewes and wethers, 15s. 10d. to 193. id.; ewes and lambs, 16s. to 17s. 3d. Oattle: Yearling heifers, £2 12s. 6d. to £3 Iβ.; yearling heifers (good). .£3 153. to £3 163. 6d.; two-year heifers, £31155. to £3 19s. 6d.; etorc cows, £3 103. to £3 16e.; forward cows, £3 17a. to £4 13s. 6d.; yearling steers, £3 Is. 6d.; cows, with calves at foot, £4 10s.; heifors. -just calved, £6 10s. to £7; springing heifers, £6 2s. 6d.; heifers, in calf, £4 12s. 6d.; store bullocks, £7 4s. 6d.; fat bullocks, £9 153. to £10 2s. 6d.
Messrs. James Macintosh and Co. report having held their weekly sale in their Masterton (Waipoua) sale yards on Wednesday, when they offered a, fair yarding to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, and practically the whole yarding was sold under tho hammer. Woolly wether hogerete (very good), IBs. 7d.; medium hoggets, 13s. to 14s. 7d.; b.f. hoggets, 13a.; two-tooth wethers. 16s. W. to 18s.; ewes and lambs, to 18s. Id.; empty ewes, poor sorts, Ids. 4d.; better sorts, to Ks.
