POLICE BUSINESS. (Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) Mnry Hunter pleaded not guiltv to a charge of the theft, of footwear, "valued at 155., from Daniel Coronno. Sho was convicted and ordered to appear for sentence when called on. Tor insobriety James Laing was fined £2, Alexander Harrison 10s., Thomas Reeves £1, and Frank Roberts .81. Frederick Lyness, who was deemed to be idle and disorderly, was sent to Ohiro Home. John Williams was sentenced to one month's imprisonment on a charge of his having stolen a mackintosh, valued- at .£1 10s., from David D. Andrews.
