Captain Vicary Hprnimnn, in a letter in tho "Daily Mail," says that some of tlio utterances of Mr. Middleton (coach to the Australian rowing team that' competed at Stockholm) regarding the Olympio i contest, aro so ungontlemnnly {hat he is sure. English sportsmen will do Australians the credit of believing that tho man who has so far forgotten himself will be most severely censured in Australia. As leader of the Australasian icam, he tenders his sineerest apology for' Mr. Middleton's rude comments, and expresses much regret at Mr. Middleton's disloyalty to the object nearest to the hearts of the organisers of the team, namely, that the visit should reflect credit on Australia and New Zealand. He hope? the team will bo remembered by its actions, unmnrred by the utterance's of Mr. Middleton. who is not the proper person to speak for Australasia.
