INQUIRY TO BE HELD. Tho recent fatality in tha yards at the Petone Workshops was referred to in the House of Reprefjcntativcs yesterday by the member for Hutt, Mr. T. M. Wiltord. An inquest had been held,, and it had ton iound that some sort of signal should have- been put up by the limn who was killed. The unfortunate man had been under a truck doing the work which it was his duty lo do, when mi engine was shunted into the truck. Since tho inquiry, he (Mr. Wilford) had had evidence submitted to him which warranted him on behalf or. tho widow and family of tho deceased in asking for a public mquiry. He would not object to tho same magistrate, JJi'. M'Arthur, conducting tho inquiry; the magistrate could have found no other ver. diet than ho had found oil the evidence before him. ~ Tho Prime Minister: lhe hon. gentleman asks for an inquiry jnto the death of a man who was accidentally killed on the railways tho other day.
