Running under charter4o• tlie New Zealand Shipping Company the Shaw-Savill steamer Waiwera left Cape Town on Friday, in continuation of her journey from Montreal to Wellington. She is duo at her destination about November 18. S.S. GERTIE ON THE "HARD." Messrs. Levin and Co. were advised, yesterday that thp coastal eteamer Gertie had been plaeed on the "hard" in the Mauawatu River. On examination of the vessel s hull it was found that a hole had been pierced through a plate. All the cargo •had been landed, and it was expected that temporary repairs would be effected i!n time for the Gertie to leave for Wellington to-morrow. Captain Edwin, who has been on holiday leave, has been ordered to proceed to Dunodin to take charge of the Monowai, vice Captain Clift, who will probably tVansfer to the Warrimoo, now undergoing overhaul at Port Chalmers. The Taviuni is proceeding from Timaru direct to- West Coast ports, and will not call at Wellington this trip. The Haupiri left Onehunga for Wellington direct at 1 p.m. yesterday. Due in port this evening, the vessel will be dispatched for Picton, New Plymouth, and Onehunga, on Wednesday. The Navua, which is due at Wellington from Suva, via Auckland, on Thursday evening, will return to Auckland on Friday with transhipments ex R.M.S. Tahiti. From Auckland she will proceed direct to Wcstport to load ccal for the northern port and Suva. Tlie Waipiro is cxpected to leave Wellington for Wcstport to-morrow. At the , West Coast port coal will be loaded for ' Lyttelton, Oamaru, and Dunedin. The Tahiti continues her journey to Sydney at 5 p.m. on Friday, taking Australian cargo from this port. The Koonya leaves Wellington for Grfiymouth to-day. The Shaw-Savill steamer 'Rangatira left the Bluff last, evening for Brisbane to commence Homeward loading. The Shaw-Savill Company's R.M.S. Arawa, at present discharging Homo cargo at the Queen's WhaTf. is to sail this afternoon for Lyttelton, where she will continue her discharging operations, and commence loading. The Arawa will leave Lyttelton on October 17 for Port Chalmors, where 6he goes to load, and will leave that port on October 19 for Auckland. The vessel if* due at the northern port on tho 21hi, and two days later she is to sail for Wellington, which is to be her final port She should reaoh Wellington on tho 25th, and is scheduled to sail for London'on the 31st. The Arawa is due in London on December 12. The New Zealand Shipping Company's cargo carrier Opawa arrived off Wellington Heads from Timaru at 9.40 'p.m. on Sunday, but on account of thick weatli.er did not come into port until 5.45 a.m. yesterday. She ha* been engaged coaling in the stream, and is expeclcd to sail for Port Pirie this evening. The coastal steamer Mangapapa (Messrs. Dalgety and Co., ..agents), is cxpected at Wellington from Karamea and Westport on Thursday, and sails on the return trip the same day. The New Zealand Shipping Company'* Rcmuera, which is due here from Auckland on October 14, will' c.omnlete loading at this port, and sails for Loudon, via way ports, on October 17., Mr. -T. Bernsch has joined /the Ngahere as second engineer, vicc Mr. C. Broadley, who has come ashore. The Anglo-Mexican, which left New York on September 21, under charter to the A. and A.
