CHAEGE AGAINST RAILWAY MAN. • At' the Magistrate's Court yesterday Cuthbert William Bridge, a railway porter, Was charged. with having stolen two cows and foiir heifers, valued at Mil, belonging to Frederick ..Stephen Witton; a heiler, valued at JC3, belonging to John Breen; five heifers, a cow, and a bull, valued at .£23 55.,' belonging to William Bell; and.a heifer, valued nt Xi, belonging to — Moxham. Chief-Detective Broberg mentioned that the allegation was that Bridge, who was a railway porter living at Masterton; had come to Wellington on leave on August 15 last; and had taken the cattle referred to from the Tinakori Hills, driven them as far fls\'Upper Hutt, and then entrained them to Sotway, near. Masterton. Bridge was remanded tilf to-inorrow. Bail (JlOO) was allowed^ KNOX CASE AGAIN. William Knox was before the Court again on a charge of having used an instrument for illegal purposes.
