LONDON PERSONALS. London, August 29. Dr. Winifred Bnlhgatc, of Dunedin, is in London. Miss Mildred Ncwconibc, of Wanganui, left for Holland and Paris last week. Sho rails by tho Seydlitz for New Zealand ou September 2. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tengue, of Dunedin, with their daugnter, Miss Emily Teague, have taken a cottage in SuffolK for September and October. Captain Iv. S. Seddnn, who was operated on recently for appendicitis, has left the hospital. Mr. \\". J. Mncdcrmolt, of Auckland, leaves by the Suevic to-day, and will stay for a time in Sydney, but hopes to reach Auckland in October. Mr. Frederick Thompson, of Christchurch, arrived last week, and intends to stay at Bournemouth lor some little time. Mrs. F. Browne and Miss Gertrude Browne, of Invercargill, are spending a fortnight at Plymouth, whenco they go to Ireland, returning to London in November. Mr. James H. Harrison, of Wellington, who has been studying dentistry in England for nearly two years, intends leaving in October to complete his studies in tho. United States. Mr. A. C. Gawith, of Masterlon, left rerecently for New Zealand via Canada and the United States, and sails from San Francisco by the Tahiti on September 18. Mr. Georgo and Miss Connie Prouse, of Wellington, who have been studying music in Milan for the past year, havo been spending a holiday in London, but leave again for Milan this week. Mr. F. Kysh, of Auckland, arrived via Vancouver three weeks ago. His object is to visit relatives in Loudon and other parts of England, and he returns to New Zealand about Christmas. Miss Gladys Morice, well known in musical circles in Wellington, is,on a short visit to England. At tho end of Sep. tcniber Miss Morice will leave, for a two months' Continental tour. Mrs. L. L. Harvey, of Dunedin, •is spending a few weeks in Manchester with her daughter-in-law. She expects to leave for New Zealand in October. Mr. and Mrs. T. Smith, of Wellington, are on visits to relatives and friends. In September they go to Blackpool and the English Lakes District: They remain here over Christmas, and leave for New Zealand in January. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Cameron, of Dunedin, returned from America a few weeks ago, and aro visiting relatives in Dublin. They will return to New Zealand by tho Orient line, at the end of the year. Mrs. J. W. Salmond, of Wellington, wife of the Solicitor-General for New Zealand, arrived on Friday by the Tainui with her sou, Mr. W. G. Salmond, who is entering St. John's/Cambridge, as a law student. Dr. J.'.Renfrew White, of DiiiH"iia arrived three weeks ago by the Oran, of which'ship-he'was surgcon-in-Xtta a/v He has conic to London -principally for professional purposes, and may .'renvi.u for. a couple of veai-s or so in Europe. . Mrs. J. Ulrio Collins has returned to London from Winchester, where sho was the guest of "Sir Charles and Lady Nepean, who aro cousins of Mr. Collins. ' Mrs. Collins leaves for Auckland by the Otranto ou September 27. Mrs. Roland Bramwell, of Auckland, has been in the West of England visiting her daughter, Mrs. Pridcaux, and in Bedfordshire with.other relatives. She has also had a trip to Scotland. Sho hopes to return to Auckland in November. • Mr. F. Shavle-Gardner, 'architect, of Auckland, is back from a Continental tour, and has spent the past fortnight in Plymouth. Mr. Malcolm Irving, of Christchuron, who has been travelling for the past year in America, Scotland, Ireland, and the Continent, is returning to Australia and New Zealand by the Morca. He'is not in robust health, and will stay in Australia until he feels stronger. Mrs. W. E. Barron, of Oamaru, is spending twelve months 'in England and tho Continent. Hef*' present address is care of Mrs. Hills, Friar's Place,. Thurnhnin, Kent. In September, Mrs. Barron leaves for a tour through France, Switzerland, and the Italian Lakes. Mr. A. J. Bland, .of, Wellington, haa ' visited the South Coast and is now in Wevmouth before going to Dublin for the horse show. He is, later, visiting Belfast, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, and then returns to London before going over to the Continent. Ho sails by the Orunm in October. Miss Kassio Turner, of Christchurch, Is making various visits to friends in different parts of England, and is also busy studying English hosbital methods. Sho expects to return to New Zealand- before the end of the year. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brooks, of Auckland, arrived last week. They intend visiting relatives in' Essex, Yorkshire, Kent, and Hampshire, and expect to return in a few mouths to New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. Goodcve, of Dunedin, will for tho next two months be at Ealing Common. They intend touring the British Isles and the Continent before returning. Mr. and Mrs. James Robertson and Mr. Robertson's sister, Miss Susan Robertson, of Auckland, who arrived here in June, have taken a house, at Holmleigh, 26 Copers Cope Road, Beckeuhain, and will be in England for twelve months. Mr. and Mrs. .7. C. Spedding, of Auckland, who travelled with Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, are also residing at Copers Cope Road. Mr. and Mts. L. F. Reichel, of Wellington, arrived in England via Montreal, spending over five months there and in New York. Mr. Rciehel was formerly Chief Electrician in tho New Zealand Government Public. Works Department, and left the service in order to exploit the Rieehel automatic- firo alarm in America and Europe. Thev propose to return to New Zealand by the Rimutaka, sailing on August 29. . Mr'., Mrs., and Miss M. Robinson, of Christchurch, who arrived in England on May 25.,hav0 been travelling in Ireland, Scotland, and the North of England, and are now at the seaside. They will return to London in September, and' will leave at the ond of the month for the Continent, joining their boat for New Zealand at Naples. ' • Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Baxter, of Dunedin, left New Zealand in Marcb for San Francisco, whence thoy crossed to Halifax, where Mrs. Baxter remained with her relatives. Mr. Baxter came to London, and, since then, has visited Scotland and the English Lakes district. He last week went to Brussels and Paris, returninl; to London on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Max Friedlander, the Misses Kate, Clare, and Doris, and Mr. Emil Friedlander, of Ashburton, arrived in Naples in March, and spent some time in Italy, Austria, and Germany, before arriving at Berlin, where they stayed two months. They also visited Frankfort, Weisbaden, Cologne, Holland, and Belgium before they came to London, where they intend staying a couple of months before touring the British Isles. Their future plans include France and Switzerland, and they return to Italy in, time to meet their steamer at the beginning of the year for Australia.
