At Groymouth last week Mr. James Coull, who has for a groat intuiv years represented the arm of Messrs.' J.' Duthie and Co., of Wellington, as travelling representative on the West Coast, was entertained by a number of friends and received a presentation of a pimse of sovereigns to celebrate his "leaving the road" to outer into business on hi« own account nt Blenheim. Mr. James Bishop, who presided, spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr. Coull's per.-onal and business qualities. As representative of Messrs. J. ])uthio and Co., Mr. Coull, he said, had built up a mid flourisliing business on tho Weft Coast, and all present wished him eiiual success in rapidly building up a large and prosperous business of his own. Mr.D. M'Kay toasted "John Ditthio and C 0.," a linn lie said whose word was their bond, and with whom it was pleasant to have business transactions. Mr. Coull, in acknowledging the compliments to himself and to his firm, announced that his successor on the West Coa>t would b« Mr. Burton, who was already well and favourably known in that part of New Zealand. Mr. Maurice Thompson, of Invercargill, Grand Master of the Freemasons of N'ew Zealand, is at present in Wellington, milking a series of official visits to the lodges of the district. He is accompanied hv Mr. Malcolm Xiecol, Grand Secretary and Past Grand Master of the Order. ' This morning Messrs.
