THE SEDDON TELEGRAM.
4 AVe regret to find that an injustice was done the member for Wcstland, Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, by the republication in our issue of September 14 of an article from, the West Coast Times. The avticlein question which was headed "Electioneering at the State's Expense," was accompanied by a block being a facsimile of a "Received Service Telegram" purporting to bear the signature "Thomas Seddon.". This article imputed that Mr. Seddon had improperly sent the message as a "Service" or free telegram, but we have now learned that this imputation has no foundation in fact. The telegram actually dispatched by Mn. Seddon was paid for by him as an ordinary telegram to Ferguson's, and its repetition as a "Service" or free telegram to stations beyond Ferguson's was without Mr. Seddon's authority or knowledge. _We candidly admit that an injustice has been done to Mr. Seddon and we therefore record our regret that we gavo publicity in our columns to an unjustifiable attack on him.
