' An effort is being made to delay tho departure of next Saturday's steamer from Sydney for Wellington, in order that New Zealand visitors to the A.J.C. meeting may see tho last of tho racing, and then leave for Wellington. Acceptances for the Mastcrton Racing Club's meeting close on Friday next. Trainers T. Quinlivan and K. J. Ma6on leave Sydney on the return trip to Now Zealaud next Saturday, with, the horses they took over to race at Bandwick; It . is interesting to note that Vice-Admiral, of Mason's team, has been entered for tho Champion Plato at Trcntkaru, and his presence, in the field will lend additional interest to the race. Jockeys C. Emerson and B. Deeley "are both, expected back in Wellington on Wednesday week, and will bo riding at the Trentham races. Prince Palatine's victory in tho Jockey Club Stakes on Thursday will bring his winnings for tho present season up to ■£20,000. As a three-year-old, Mr. Pillcington's colt won over .£"000, so that he has been indeed a profitable purchase for his, owner,' who certainly deserves to bo , called a good judge'.
