THE POULTRY INDUSTRY.

1— 1 (By Chantecler.)

The Auckland Conference. . The third annual poultryinen's conference is to bo hold at Auckland next Easter. From the reports of the committee it seems .evident that the conference will be both large and representative—the best to date. There are signs that the poultry industry is likely to be placed on an organised basis next year. Hitherto, most of tho work has been done by men in a small way, but large producers are beginning to recognise that the industry is worthy of their support. There are many benefits to' be derived from a conference, and, next year, we may look for aggressive work in Auckland. Tho egg circles that aro in existence are doing splendidly, and each .of them is likely to affiliate with the New Zealand Poultry Association, so that the representation and voting power at the conferences will be direct trom men interested in poultry culture: . . . ■ It behoves poultrymen who are interested to support the association, and gain control of its work. There are always plenty of supporters' of producers in a small way, but now that the industry is becoming a force, it is the big producers who are wanted for its organisation. The Auckland poultrymen are making full preparation for an educative gathering.
