The Federal High Court lias given its decision on the application of tho Colonial Sugar Company for an'injuuction restraining the Commonwealth .Sugar Commission V from further examining the company's directors and officials. Tho grounds of tho application were thntthe'Sngar Commission's appointment was invalid, and trade rivals would benefit if the company's processes ..were made public through tho eom- ' mission. • The Court holds that tho Royal Commissions Act, under which the Commission was appointed, is valid, but by a majority grants an injunction restraining the Sugar Commission from asking irrelevant questions relating to the internal affairs of the Colonial Sugar Company, or its>tr«nBactione or investments outside the Commonwealth. - ■; Mr. Justice Isaacs and Mr. Justice ■'Biggins dissented. COURT EQUALLY DIVIDED. (Rec. October 5, 0.25 a.m.) Melbourne, Ootober 4. The. High Court was equally divided with regard to tho granting of an injunction in the Sugar Commission case. The Chief Justice/ Sir Samuel Griffith, and Mr. Justice Barton favoured an injunction, while Justice? Isaacs and Biggins opposed it. Sir Samuel Griffith exercised the right of using a casting voto, and deoided for tho injunction. • •
