THE MEMBER FOR EGMONT. - Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, the new member for Egmont, began his active Parliamentory carcav yesterday by giving notice fo nsk the Minister for Defence whether lie would send more drill instructors into the country districts. Mr. Wilkinson stated that in dairying districts it was found very inconvenient for senior cadets to attend night parades at places distant from their homos, and that the. alteration asked for would make tho. system of compulsory training more acceptable to country settlers. Mr. Wilkinson later gave notice to move for a return giving particulars of expenditure on public buildings.
STATE ADVANCES INQUIRY. The Public Accounts Committee will commence, its inquiry into tho administration of the State Guaranteed Advances Department under past Governments on Wednesday next. THE MOKAU INQUIRY. Tho joint. Parliamentary Committee sot up to.inquire, into tho petition of Mr, .Toshnn. Jones, of Moknu, Tarauaki, will not begin tho taking of evidence until next week. - ,
