(By Teleiraph.-Sncclal Correspondent.) Wanganui, October 3. Mr. A. G. Bignoll has l>een elected unopposed chairman of the Gonvillo Town Board. The Wanganui Technical College Committee last night accepted with regret the resignation of Mr. A. Varuey, who leaves in a, few days to tako tho position of secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. The members of tho committee made oulogistio references to tho value of Mr. Varney's work as director of the- college for.many years, and for the last twelve months as secretary, in both of which positions he showed great organising skill) which, materially influenced the prosperity of this -fine educational institution.
