NORTHERN BOWLING ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL REPORT. The. annual report of Flie Northern fowling Association congratulates members on the. continued progre=s of the association. - The season opened with a membership of 62 clubs. During the year <"«' iwmwi-s " ave teen-augmented by the affiliation of the Khnndallah, Takaka, Gonville, Hunterville, West Knd, Stanley and Reef ton Clubs. This brings our roll up to 69 club?, with a membership of closo on 5000, which enables us to still retain the proud title of "the stronjest bowling association in .Australasia." For tho incoming season applications regarding aflilahou have been received from tho inPlowood and levin Clubs. As tho work of the association has of lato considerably increased.- the council appointed an executive to deal with matters requii-ingf immediate consideration and attention. The following delegates were appointed to act in conjunction with the president and 'focretiiry.—Colonel J!. J. Collins, C.M.G., Messrs.' \. Veitch, T Bush, C. Bury, and W. Brnnskill. During the year negotiations have been continued with the New Zealand Bowling Association, with the object of having ono general governing body for the whole of the Dominion. The tw'o councils have agreed on a constitution, anil Iho nmnlpimution of tho North and South Island Associations, is practically assured. Many minor details have, of course, yet to bo arranged, btit these should be fixed up in ample time to ennblo the new association to commence operations during tho coming year. Under the auspices of the New Zealand Bowling Association, a parly of bowlers from South Canterbury und North Otngo intend visiting Hie North Island in January next. Tho annual tournament for 19)3 will take place in Auckland, commencing on Monday, Jmuiary G. Aβ this will'possibly lx) the last tournament to be held under our auspices we hope to see every affiliated club represented.
