Sir Edward Carson, the Irish Unionist Leader, in a speech at Glasgow said ho urged tho Unionists of Ireland to do nothing aggressive, but to shrink from nothing defensive. If an attempt was made to force the Bill upon' Ulster the Government provoked forces which neither ho nor anybody else could control. He would not control them if he could. Sir Edward Carson received a cordial welcome on his arrival here. The messages of God-speed included: one from Australia. ANOTHER ELECTION. RUMOURED PLEDGE TO THE KING. (Rec. Mr. Herbert Pike Pease, Unionist M.P. for Darlington, in speaking at Eldon, Durham, said he had heard on high authority that tho King had received a pledge that the country would.be afforded an r opportunity of expressing its opinion before the Home Rule Bill became law, A STORMY SESSION. Mr. John Redmond, lender of the Irish Nationalist party has circularised the Nationalists to attend, every hour during the autumn sessions as the Unionists will unceasingly attempt surprise divisions and a system of continuous, destruction in order to defeat the Government and destroy Home Rule. ' '
