CHURCH CONGRESS.
AUDRESS.BV ARCHBISHOP-'OF YORK, THE INDUSTRIAL UNREST. By TeleeraDh-Pms Associitaon-CoßTritht (Kec, October 2, 0.40 a.m.) London, October 1. Addressing the Anglican Church. Congress at Middlesborough the Archbishop of York (Dr. Cosmo Lang) said the, kcy-i-.oto of the Congress would be the Church's appeal to the industrial millions. There, was un ugly vsidu to the industrial unrest. There was much violence, rancour, and mischievous talk, yet he saw an honest, desire lor decenfor lives for the workers. The Church's business was to see that the rights of-both Capital and labour were defended, and to insist that neither should neglect its duties. Labour had a right to' seek for shorter hours and higher wages, and to strengthen the trade union bond; but they must work harder in the shorter hours if tlicy were honestly to earn the higher wages.
