The Presbyterian Assembly carried a motion condemning tho Commonwealth Government's proposal to give a maternity allowance in the case of illegitimate children, as boing dangerous to morals, and tending to ignore the importance o[ marriage. An additional clause urges that if the bonus is given to unmarried mother?, it should not be given directly, but should be used for their nssistanco bv suitable agencies. ,
